APK AG increases trade activities as Frank Brommbeer joins as Head of Sales
Merseburg, 02 December 2021. The market for recycled plastics is undergoing dynamic development. Recycled plastics are in greater demand than ever and qualitative requirements are increasing noticeably. Against this backdrop, APK AG is realigning its Sales division and placing it under the direction of Frank Brommbeer. He will take over this task from Florian Riedl, Director Business Development, who’s focus going forward will be on business development for APK’s Newcycling® technology.
“We are pleased that, with Mr. Brommbeer on board, we have gained a market expert who will help us to broaden our sales portfolio with solutions tailored to our customer’s needs and demand,” explains Klaus Wohnig, Chairman of the Board of APK AG. “Customers – especially in the packaging sector – increasingly have no desire to experiment with recyclates, but are instead seeking functional, user-friendly solutions.”
Frank Brommbeer, Head of Sales & Marketing
Frank Brommbeer brings with him over 15 years of experience in the field of chemical products and plastics. He has held leadership positions in sales and marketing for various manufacturers, compounders and distributors, successfully implementing numerous projects involving market entry strategies along the value chain. Based on this expertise, he will reorganise the sales team and expand trade operations. “I’m looking forward to working with the APK team as well as to the exciting challenge of representing a young, innovative company in such a dynamic sector as plastics recyclate trading”, affirms Frank Brommbeer.

Özlem Ece Tugal, Key Account Manager
Since commercialisation in 2019, Ece Tugal has been in charge of sales of the Newcycling® recyclates Mersamid® (PA recyclate) and Mersalen® (LDPE recyclate) to OEMs, brand owners and their suppliers.
Following her studies in Chemical Engineering and acquisition of an MBA in Marketing and Sales, Ece Tugal worked for a number of different companies in the packaging industry, including Korozo and Trionyx, before joining the APK team.
Lisa Riese, Account Manager
With us almost right from the start: Having been with the company for almost 10 years, Lisa Riese knows APK and its products inside and out. Her previous sales focus was on recyclates from APK’s mechanical recycling production.
As part of the realignment of the Sales unit, Lisa Riese will also contribute her experience to support her team in their sales of Newcycling® regranulates.

With their Newcycling® process, APK’s research team and engineers have developed an efficient recycling technology that combines mechanical and solvent-based processes. At present, APK employs a staff of around 150 employees at its Merseburg (Germany) location. The production plant features a recycling capability of up to 20,000 tonnes per year.
